✞ AleatoryChrist #323 - INRI ✞ ⒸNemmesea« Atttibution

The only photo of this style in my gallery.

It's not the kind of photos I'll ever take, much less do, but... I've been wanting to recreate this photo for a while, which accompanied me for years during my childhood and adolescence. It hung over the headboard of the bed in the room where I slept when I visited my maternal grandmother.

They tried to raise me in Christianity, although it's true that I had my moments; it just didn't quite fit with me. But religious themes aside, there was something about that photo that unsettled and at the same time amazed me. Perhaps the coldness of the whole thing, what it evoked, or the inscription "INRI" above that man's head.

And even though religion wasn't my thing, for them it meant something very important; an escape, a hope... And it was to be respected.

Now, I wanted to recreate it. Why? Well, aside from the artistic side, I want to make a special dedication to the women who so marked the first part of my life and who are no longer with us. Two women of character: sufferers, fighters, and always with a smile and a twinkle in their eyes.

To my grandmother and my aunt.

"Forever in my heart, and your presence my guide.

Because on that last day, the birds flew and the skies wept".
